New Zealand Bird, Bronze Wall Art Series
NZ Tui on Kowhai Flowers
One of New Zealand’s, Favorite Birds is the Tui, with its Majestic Colors, and White Tuffed of feathers on its Throat.
The Tui Bird gains admiration and is revered as a National Treasure, not only for its incredible looks and Beauty, but its Song rings throughout our Country as a complex Melody of Chirps, Beeps, Whistles and that Glorious Bell tone Chime, that brings beauty by sight and by Sound.
Also to add their some times fun paced rochus aerial acrobatics as they chase each other, during courtship and once their fledglings leave their nest.
New Zealand has a series of Wattled Birds most of which are very endangered.
By using the Sand Cast Process I have tried to, keep the costs down, to present for sale a Beautiful Sculpture.
The Kowhai Tree which produces Flowers that are a Brilliant Bright Yellow Color and also are full of a delicious tasting Nectar
which the Tui Birds Love to eat when the trees flower.
This can be a Beautiful Sight to behold, a Kowhai Tree with sometimes multiple Tui partaking of the Nectar from these Trees
I Have Polished the Bronze, and then used a special Heat Treatment to put Color into the Bronze.
I have then used layered Guilders Paste to get the Brilliant Greens and Blues which have a fluorescent look through the heat treatment, before applying the color, that is backed by Black and Bronze Gold Colors.
It is then sealed with a Clear sealer to lock in the color.
This Tui Sculpture is one Sculpture that is Part of a Series of New Zealand Bronze Wall Art.
Other Birds I Have Made for this Series are The NZ Morepork, NZ Fantail of a Fern Shoot or Koru,
New and upcoming additions are the NZ King Fisher Bird, NZ Rifleman on a Kauri
It is interesting to note that the Photos on this website never look as good as seeing the actual Sculpture in front of you.
